About REYDems

We are the Progress

Building the Next Generation of Democratic Leaders

The Redwood Empire Young Democrats mobilize young people aged 13 – 35 to participate in the electoral process to elect Democrats, influence the ideals of the Democratic Party, advocate for progressive values, and train the next generation of leaders for our community.

We are mobilizing Young Democrats in Lake, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma Counties. Our efforts will ensure that our community elects effective and compassionate leaders who will fight for young people.

Too often, we are told that our votes and our voices don’t matter. Well, if they don’t matter, why is the far-right trying so hard to take them away from you?

Prove to them just how powerful you are. Join our movement today.

Our Founding

Founded in 2024 by a group of young leaders in the Redwood Empire, REYDems is a commitment to building Young People Power in our community. Living in a rural and aging part of California, our founders feared that young people felt siloed, alone, and powerless in politics. They also believed the only way to change this was to unite our peers from across the region. In bringing together our community, REYDems carries forward a century of activism and advocacy by Young Democrats across California. We will advance the policies and values that will guide our party and our nation into a bright future.

Our Vision

We envision a future where our nation and community are freer, more just, and more effective at delivering for young people. The only way that will happen is if young people organize ourselves. We must fight back against the far right’s assault on our democracy while pushing for policies that make our housing, education, and healthcare more affordable; that make our society more equitable and free from prejudice; that will avert the climate crisis; and that will give young people more seats at the table. The decisions our  elected leaders make today will impact us for the rest of our lives — let’s make sure they benefit young people.
